The culture of a society is often regarded by its members as their most prized possession and their greatest asset. However, because of their importance, destruction of cultural sites has become a common weapon of war. Through historical analysis and three-dimensional printing, I examine the destruction of cultural and historical sites in Europe and the Middle East to explore the motives behind the actions of the destroyers, as well as the history that is now lost. Additionally, I analyze possible policy actions that can combat this exponentially growing trend of war.en-USHistoric sites -- EuropeHistoric sites -- Middle EastWarCultural property -- Destruction and pillageDestruction of Cultural Sites: A Historical AnalysisThesis
